A big part of life revolves around searching for our direction,
our role, or just our overall purpose in life.
I choose to believe we do indeed have a purpose, but life seems to
sidetrack us on our quest to find said purpose. Here is the question of the day. Are you the “authentic you?” Do you feel you are living your life
according to your purpose or living a life defined by external influences? Yep!
It is a deep question requiring a closer look. Here is a quick checklist.
1. Who
do you see when you look in the mirror?
2. Do
you find yourself envious of others and if so, why?
3. Are
you content with your life or do you feel something is missing?
4. What
would you change at this very instant?
Yes, the questions above are nebulous and can have many
answers. That’s the reason I wrote them the way I did. Here are my answers.
1. Some
days, I like the “me” I see in the mirror and on others, I get sad, as I feel
something is missing.
2. I
sometimes envy others for what appears to be a very grounded and content life,
yet I know they too, have their own issues.
3. I
am content the majority of the time, but at least a few times a week, I do feel
something is missing.
4. The
one thing I would change at this very instant is to be content with where I am at
this moment, all the while knowing it is going to change before I finish
writing this sentence.
I’m curious. Have you
found your “authentic you?”
