I heard a discussion on the radio about reading books. One person commented that he had not read a
book since early childhood. The other
host asked if it was a kid book or a real book…you know a chapter book. Having read quite a few books prior to
writing mine, I totally get the question.
Some books read like one long run on sentence. One capital letter starts it, and it ends
sometime later with a period. I’ve
observed people that treat their lives like a run on sentence. They seldom take the time to observe,
reflect, or learn from a chapter in life or set of events prior to rolling
right into something else.
Breaks are a necessary part of this process called
life. We need the breaks to reflect on
the chapter of life we just completed.
Whether is it beginning/ending a relationship or a job, we need the
break to ensure we do not carry the same stuff forward to the next
chapter. Skipping the break/reflection
typically leads to repeating the same thing over and over. There we are back at that definition of
insanity, “doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result.”
How do you see your life?
Does it look like one long run on sentence or a chapter book? Remember, you are the author of your life.
