Stuck

Water stagnates, air stagnates, and the economy stagnates.  One definition of stagnant is - a lack of development, advancement, or progressive movement.  Typically called being in a rut, we too can get stagnant.  I know I’ve been stagnant in jobs, in relationships, and life in general.  I was just stuck and going nowhere or so, I felt at the time.  The thing I learned about being stagnant is that you can and will be stagnant as long as you allow it to occur.  We’re not physically chained to a desk, relationship, or situation.  We get comfortable, complacent, and just downright lazy.  Typically, those situations lead to resentment at some point.

Getting into a situation where you dread going to work or dread going home to the husband or wife just leads to misery for all.  You can’t hide it.  Eventually, the stagnation will rear its ugly head if not dealt with in a timely manner.  I’m not suggesting you bolt from a job or a relationship when you feel stagnation coming on; however, I am suggesting you pay attention to when it appears rather than letting it fester and spread.  Feeling stuck comes with the territory.  Staying stuck is a choice.
