Have you noticed how some people are in such a rush? They’re in a hurry for relationships to
develop, looking for that next promotion at the job, rushing to run errands, planning
trips down to the minute, or whatever. It’s
as if they’ve gotta have everything right now.
What happened to enjoying the ride?
As us, motorcycle riders say and practice, “it’s not the destination,
it’s the ride.” Sure, I know everyone is
different and everyone has different drivers in life, but that still does not
mean there is not enough time to enjoy the ride. “I wish I would have taken or made the time
to insert subject.” Unfortunately, that particular phrase pops up
way too often.
If things feel rushed to you, then they are. Slow your roll. Let that relationship develop without pushing
it. Add some time to your trip rather
than rushing to go everywhere. Pull over
on the side of the road to read that historical marker. Impatience and regret are avoidable. Unless you are a racecar driver, there is no
reason to attempt to run at blinding speed.
Change, “I wish I would have taken or made the time to insert subject.” to “I’m glad I
took the time to insert subject.”
