In a Minute

 

This morning I put my sports drink bottle on the counter and thought, I’ll fill it up later. As I turned to walk away, I thought, if I fill it now, I do not have to handle the bottle twice.  Then I thought about putting my pocket change on the counter and thinking I would put it in my big change jar later.  Throughout the day, I thought more about the times I did a little mini-procrastination.  As I added up those small events, there was 10 to 15 minutes, or 1.75 hours, of wasted time in a 24-hour period by not doing things the first time around.  Rather than saying you will do something in a minute, do the task right now and have the upcoming minute for something else.  Remember, there are no do-overs on your time.
