Do You See Them?
“I do not at all understand the mystery of grace - only that it meets us where we are but does not leave us where it found us.” - Anne Lamott
I’ve been reading some excerpts of an interview Doreen Virtue, Ph.D., conducted with Betty Eadie. Betty actually died in 1973 at the age of 31 after surgery then returned with a message and has devoted her life to sharing the message. She is considered one of the world’s leading experts on near death experiences.
Doreen asked Betty about her references to “keeping an eye open for doors.” Doreen’s real question was how do you see the open doors? Betty response was that there are doors opening for us every single day we just have to learn how to recognize them.
Side Note - Funny, but I wrote a TOD on May 26th called The Door. I’ve put a copy of it at the end of this TOD for reference.
Doors and opportunity are not accidental. People are put into our lives for a reason. Events happen to position us for better and new things. We change jobs for a reason. The one thing in common with all events is faith. You have to have enough faith in the Good Lord to know they are there for a reason and to move forward. Granted, there are some doors that take us off our path, and we end up getting detoured for a bit. You know them. They are the people or events where you just get the “hmmmm something is not quite right feeling.” That is your guide and spirit talking to you. Betty actually does a nice job of defining how a detour occurs. My interpretation goes like this. If it is a want rather than a desire, it is normally a detour. Why? Ego drives wants and love drives desire. If ego is driving, well you know how that one ends. If love is driving, walk through the door. Learn to distinguish the difference so you can answer the question. Do you see them?
Action Item – Can you see the doors in your life?

Out of the Blue Goodness
I had LoJack installed on the new Harley. As I was going through the registration online, I noticed a link for a rebate for systems installed on motorcycles. I popped over to the link and up came a rebate form for $100. The form is in the mail now. One little quick on a web site was worth $100. Out of the blue goodness is a great thing.

A door is primarily known for two functions: security and an entrance/exit. You have doors that open/close in one direction. You have doors that open two ways, like at eateries, for the staff to go in and out the same door. You also have the infamous revolving door. You go in one side and work your way around to enter on the other side. Many things can happen in a revolving door. You can enter on the outside and exit on the inside. Someone can mess with you by grabbing the door and stopping all progress. You can go on past your place of exit and end up when you started. You can also keep walking in circles inside the revolving door.
I think we all sometimes feel like we are stuck in the revolving door and do not know how or where to get off. We think we know where to get out, but we sometimes miss the exit and have to go back around. Now you can get off where started at which point all you have done is waste energy and nothing has changed. You can “allow” someone to hold the door on you, which means you make zero movement and have again wasted energy. Or, you keep pushing and get out of the revolving door inside the new location. They are all choices, options, situations, etc. Put any label you want on it, but it all comes down to YOU deciding WHAT to do. People can help you, if you ask and listen, but it is ultimately your decision. Stay where you’re at, get stuck, go in circles, or get out at the new location. Personally, I see only one choice, but that is deciding WHAT to do. Have you decided what to do with the revolving doors in your life? There’s no time like the present.
Action Item – Take a look at the next revolving door you see and determine where in the cycle you are with your life: moving to a new location, some One/some Thing has you stuck, you passed your exit and are back at the start, or you are getting off inside?
