So what do you think about today’s title? I’m thinking that is going to be the title of the book. Really!
Remember the statistic I used last year on the typical number of thoughts the average person has daily: 60,000? That’s a lot of “thinkin” going on. I’ve learned to listen a little closer when the thoughts come around. That’s really how I am able to write so much. I just pay closer attention to the inspiration I get. With all the useless chatter floating around in our heads daily, it is easy to get distracted and miss an important thought or message being given to us. One tool I started using is if a word or thought seems to stand out, even if for a few seconds, I jot it down in the memo application on my blackberry. Sometimes it is indeed just a word and sometimes a paragraph or two.
How many times have you seen a product or heard something and said: “hey, that was my idea?” It very well could have been your idea. The difference is that someone acted on the idea when they got it. They listened.
You don’t have to analyze every single thought or word as that would do nothing but cause the “brain pain.” Just try it a few times today. If something jumps out at you, write it down. It may not go anywhere at that moment, but I bet you will come back to it. That’s just how inspiration works. It’s just one of the those 60,000 thoughts a day.
