Wednesday's Selection of Words

January 6th – I’m Waiting?

“Everything comes to us that belongs to us, if we create the capacity to receive it.” -
Rabindranath Tagore

I was watching TD Jakes last night, and he was discussing people that like to wait. “I’m waiting on the Lord to do insert subject…I’m waiting on my kids to insert subject…I’m waiting on my husband to insert subject…I’m waiting to hit the lottery so I can pay off my bills.

Sure I understand when you are waiting at the Dr.’s office, waiting on your car to be repaired, or waiting in line at the grocery store. In those cases though, you are doing something, but waiting just happens to be part of the action in play. Sometimes waiting is part of life, but if you are waiting for someone, God, or something to take care of it for you, then just keep waiting because it will not happen. Waiting is the lack of action. That translates to being a spectator rather than participator in your life. The good Lord gave us free will for a reason. He wants us to be an active participant in life. When we participate, we are making changes in our lives and in the lives of those around us. We are contributing to our world and the world around us.

If you are waiting on something, I challenge you to think for a minute and see if there is some action you could take to move it from waiting to participating. I have faith you will find the action you need.

  1. Got me there... Thanks for the sanity check and the realization that it's time for action. God Bless.
