2/22 Something to Think About

Not a One Time Event

I read one sentence a few years ago that stuck with me and really changed my life. “Kindness is not a single act but a lifestyle.” When you live in the mindset of kindness it ripples out to everyone you encounter. You are making differences in the world without even knowing it sometimes. One single event can totally change someone’s life without you even knowing it. I was asked this past Friday why I do some of the things I do to help people. The answer is really easy for me: “because I can…because the good Lord has blessed me with the resources to help whether it is financially, emotionally or whatever…because it’s good for my heart, and because it is just the right thing to do…”

I am so blessed that I am going to do any and everything I can do to help someone, without trying to fix them, have a better life. And yes it is my responsibility to help, and I know that as the good Lord has put it in my heart. Sometimes it is just listening. Sometime it is helping someone financially. Sometimes it is just being there to hold someone without saying a word. I never know when or where the opportunity will present itself, but I do live by the motto: “be prepared.” I can tell that I do feel it when the opportunity presents itself. I know without exception that kindness is not a one-time event. It is indeed a lifestyle. Change the world today by being kind to someone. Trust me; you will know it when the opportunity presents itself.
