1095 To Start
Today marks the beginning of year 51 in life experiences for me. Yep! Today is my birthday. The last 365 days of life experiences has been one excellent ride. I flew a fighter jet, drove a race car, marked my 20th year as a volunteer with the rodeo, made lots of new friends, started getting my 10% senior citizen discount at the grocery store, picked up a new motorcycle and truck, watched Shayne become a Marine, took a few fun trips, was appointed to the Board of Directors with the rodeo, started putting my first book together, grew emotionally and spiritually, found some new bars, had fun at Lights in the Heights, shared 1000’s of smiles and hugs, took a few classes, attended some great parties, rode a 1940 Knucklehead, learned a lot of new things, shared moments with those close to me, shared moments with strangers, and experienced becoming Tristen’s Godfather. At a bare minimum, I know I have had at least 1095 new life experiences as there are three things I do each day.
1.Make a Difference in Someone’s Life. It can be something as simple as a smile, a hug, a kind word, a handshake, or a hand out.
2.Learn at Least One New Thing. Life presents so many opportunities to learn. Just keep your eyes open and listen.
3.Meet at Least One New Person. Say hello to a stranger. Ya never know what you will learn from that chance encounter.
Every life experience is a one-time event. There will be similar events but not exactly the same. When I learned to look at life experiences that way, things really changed. Strive to see each second of your life with anticipation and as a unique experience rather than just passing time. You will be amazed at how much of an adventure life becomes.
