Passing By

The actual definition of temporary is - existing, serving, or effective for a time only; not permanent.  Have you ever thought of everything as being temporary?  Buildings come and go, vehicles come and go, jobs come and go, and people come and go.  In the true definition of temporary, even life is temporary.  We are here for a finite amount of time.  We do not know the duration, but we do know it does not go on forever.  When someone comes to visit, we know it is temporary so we tend to put more effort into enjoying every second of the visit.  We go on an outing with friends and again put more effort into enjoying every second of the outing all the time knowing it is temporary.  How do you think life would be different if people viewed it and approached it as the temporary event it is? 

I believe we get too hung up in the I will see them later or do that later when we have no clue about when or if later will be there.  I am not suggesting taking crazy chances and living on the edge all the time.  What I am suggesting is life is indeed a temporary event, and we should see and approach it as such.  Cherish the ones in your life.  Laugh until you hurt.  Hug people for no reason.  Ensure your “people” know they matter and are important in your life.  The past is done and you do not know the future, which leaves you with the present.  This very moment you are living is all you really know.  Live it well my friends.
