Here Somewhere

Where Did I Put It?

We have all misplaced our keys, cell phone, and wallet/purse.  It’s a matter of sometimes retracing your steps to find them.  I attempt to minimize misplacing things by piling all my stuff in a metal dish I have on the counter.  Invariably though, I miss something.  The funny one to me is why misplace my phone; try to call it, only to remember it’s on vibrate.  That always adds a level of comedy to searching the house.  I think we sometimes misplace our “peace and calm” too.

We get so caught up in whatever the challenge of the day is that we start stressing, sometimes get angry, or even spin totally out of control.  Face it; there are many opportunities for drama, daily.  With every opportunity for drama also comes the opportunity to choose our reaction.  Personally, I think it is easy to give in to anger, as it takes no effort to get pissed off.  The challenge comes with assessing the situation to determine how you choose to react.  Being angry and pissed off takes work and effort.  I know when I get frustrated; it takes it out of me.  I can physically feel my energy draining.  That’s my queue to do something about it.  Sometimes I stay in the funk for a bit, but in most instances, I start working on a shift.  I begin the process of backtracking to see where I misplaced my “peace and calm.”

Do you know where your peace and calm is at this very minute, or did you misplace it?
