I'm Stuck

I have one.  You have one.  We all have one.  Everyone has a past.  Parts of it are great, and some parts are less than great, but it is still ours.  One of the things I have learned about the past is that it will let you stay there as long as you like.  It is very accommodating.  I see people get stuck their past sometimes, and I’ve stayed a little too long in parts of mine too.  The past has merit and certainly has a place in our lives, but when your past is there more than your present or impedes your growth, well that is a sure fire sign you’re stuck.  Giving power to the past to control your present is just that.  It’s a giveaway.

It’s like that old somewhat comical definition of insanity – doing the same things over and over expecting different results.  Our past controls our present and future only if we allow it to keep us stuck.  If you feel like you’re stuck in a block of cement, step out of those shoes.  Being unstuck is far more fun than being stuck.
