All the Time in the World

With or Without You

It happens every second of every day.  You can choose to participate on some level or watch as it happens.  What is it?  It’s change.  With or without you, it happens.  Think about it in its most simplistic form.  We change clothes multiple times each day.  I change a minimum of three times.  From work clothes, to gym clothes, to either lounging or going out for a beer clothes later that night.  Yes, I could wear the same identical clothes all day, each day, but I would be a little gamey after a while and people would probably avoid me.

It’s funny to hear someone say “I need to change clothes” but do not see the activity of changing clothes as actual change.  You go to the store to pick up something, but they are out of your favorite brand.  You end up getting some other brand of product.  That too is change.  Then there are the other big changes in life: someone passing away, relationship change, or job change.  Big or small, here is what I have learned about change.  I can attempt to hide from it at which point it is just a waiting game as it is still gonna happen, or I can accept it, and work with it to find the good in it.  It’s up to me to choose which way I go.  With or without me, the change will happen.
