The Answer Is?

To C or Not to C, That is the Question

Have you noticed how quick some people are to tell you what they Can’t do rather than Can do?  I Can’t work because I don’t have a car.  Hmm, so does that mean the bus is broke, you forgot how to walk, or you forgot how to ride a bike?  I Can’t lose weight.  So that means you are unable to move or cut back on your calorie intake.  Don’t get me wrong, there are many times when Can’t is a valid answer.  I Can’t go on a trip as I do not have the funds.  I Can’t go out with you for dinner as I have to work tonight.

All too often though, Can’t is no more than an excuse for whatever.  Rather than concentrating on what Can’t be done or happen, concentrate on what Can be done.  I Can’t run without a fair amount of pain due to multiple knee surgeries, but I Can walk or ride the stationary bike or elliptical rider to get a workout.  I Can’t always donate money to charities, but I Can donate my time or help promote the cause through my network of contacts.  I Can’t solve people’s problems, but I Can listen and hopefully help them arrive at the answer by problem solving with them.

To C or Not to C, that is the question.  Which you’re primary C, Can or Can’t.  It’s your choice ya know.
