I Am

Is it just me, or is it a little strange how some people allow others or situations to label or define them?  Some of it goes back to our childhood or specific events, some is our inherent insecurities, and other times it involves a controlling person in our lives.  Sure, we all have influences in our life; but ultimately, we decide who we are, and how we define ourselves.  The definition of who we are should be an evergreen process as we are always evolving and growing in some area of life.  Even when we think things are the same, they are not.  No moment in life is exactly the same as the previous moment.  That’s not the way life and the universe work.

You can call me a sewing machine if you want to.  That does not make me a sewing machine.  See how ridiculous that sounds?  People and events in our lives help define who we are, but they do not have the final word.  The buck stops with us.  I define who I am and so do you.  So, if I want to be a sewing machine today, I will.  That’s my choice.  How about you?
