Not often do I suggest to people
to make assumptions, but in this case, I am 100% in support of
assumptions. Assume you are on camera
because most of the time you are on camera.
Do you know anyone nowadays that does not have a camera phone? I can think only a couple in my circle, and
they do not have them only to be contrary.
Today’s technology allows us to photograph or record at a second’s
notice. Push two icons on my phone and
the video is rolling. An article in the
morning paper discussed how two rotten thieves were caught within a few days
solely because of video cameras at the places they burglarized.
Does a week pass without some
silly video about some bonehead move by a celebrity? I have little to no sympathy for people that
do stupid things in “public” then whine how their privacy was violated. Well duh!
You were in “public.” How can
that be private? Be accountable and
responsible for you actions and you will have no worries. Trust me; I loathe the paparazzi, as they are
nothing but bottom feeders attempting to instigate an event. Calling the paparazzi photojournalists is
like calling a drug dealer an entrepreneur.
From security cameras at any
establishment to those on the streets of any major city, we are being
watched. That’s just a sign of the
times. I find assuming I am on camera
just helps me think for a split second before doing things. Maybe that’s another reason I smile a
lot.
