Depending on which web site or book you read, most sources
indicate age three to be an impressionable age, then again in the teens, then
as young adults. There is always some
source attempting to influence us to vote a certain way, experiment with
certain drugs, have certain spiritual beliefs, or whatever the subject. From what I’ve experienced in life, being at
an impressionable age does not really end. I see being impressionable as
experiences and opportunities to learn. Yes, I’ve done my share of less than
smart things, but I learned from them, well most of them anyway. It took me a couple of times on a few things,
but I eventually learned.
I’ve also done some impressionable things that changed
lives. How do I know, people tell me or
they write me about something I said or did that influenced them to write their
story, work to be a better communicator, or leave a dead end job and take a
chance.
I hope I stay impressionable for the rest of my days, as I
have learned some of my best lessons and met some of the neatest people through
being impressionable. For me, being
impressionable means I’m paying attention.
I like being at That Age where I still enjoy the experience.
Are you impressionable?
