No, I’m not talking about Auto Zone. I’m talking about the zone where we are
present in the moment. It’s that place
where the pesky voices in our head along with the other chatter of life are
silenced, and we have total focus and clarity.
The zone is that place where you go and leave all the distractions of
daily nonsense behind.
I am certainly not an expert, but I find that clarity on the
Harley or when I jump out of a plane. Pro
drag racers put black tape on their visors to help keep them focused on the
light and the track in front of them rather than the car beside them. Hunters talk about getting in the zone and
taking a deep breath before taking the shot.
Golfers do the same when putting.
Life presents up with all sorts of opportunities each day to
get hung in the “what if.” What if my
company has layoffs, what if my car breaks down, what if my relationship goes
south? What if…what if…what if! What if none of that happens and you just
enjoy the moment. You can burn cycles on
the “what if,” or you can live in the “what is.”
