There is nothing like having a
conversation then bam, you are in a full-blown argument out of nowhere. You know, those situations that leave you
scratching your head and wondering what just happened. The strangest part about is that the trigger
typically has nothing to do with you or the current situation. Yep! You guessed
it. Mr. Past rears his ugly head again.
Something happens that drums up some not so healthy memories of past
situations. One side gets snippy, the other side gets defensive and the
downhill spiral into an argument is in full effect. The way to avoid the argument is to pause and
stand down rather than react. Waiting
and listening rather than reacting will allow the tension to subside. Patience
is more than a virtue. It is a
necessity. Remember, it takes two to argue.
