It
is time again for a review of the table.
In this instance, the table refers to the inner circle people in your
life. There are only a certain number of
seats at the table. Those seats should
be reserved for those you let in your personal space. They are your closest friends, confidants,
and or family. They are the ones you
want closest, trust the most, and matter most in your life. Not everyone deserves or should have a seat
at your table. It gets back the difference between friends and acquaintances.
The
funny thing about the table is that at some point, we all attempt to have a
giant table full of people, and before you know it both friends and
acquaintances and who knows who else is in our space. We end up with people that are takers and
bring nothing to the table. It gets back
to that little thing called boundaries.
We
have to know who belongs at the table, who doesn’t, and when it is time to move
some away from the table or up to the table.
Unfortunately, it is not always easy removing someone from your table,
but it is necessary. Guard the seats at
the table, as there should only be a select few with you. If your table looks like a throw down at a
crawfish festival, maybe it is time to rethink your seating. Reservations are required for the people at
the table.
