Mine Not Yours

Choice is one of my favorite subjects to discuss.  For me, making choices means I am actively involved in my life rather than plodding along waiting to see what happens.  The choices I make may not always be popular, but as I tell people often, they are mine not yours.  Then there are those out there that attempt to force us to choose what they want rather than what is right for us.  One word describes those people, selfish.

Yes, I’ve made choices based on the emotion of certain situations and in attempts to please others only to find those choices were wrong.  The funny thing about those situations is that I knew when I made the choice that it was wrong, as I felt the discomfort internally, but I did it anyway. The irony of choice is that making a choice sets up a situation for making another and another and another.  Everything we say or do in life comes down to choice.  We choose our mates, we choose our career, we choose what to eat, and we choose how to react/respond to the daily challenges of life.  Choice is a never-ending event in my mind, and the choices I make are mine not yours.  Own your choices, and watch how things change around.
