Having written for 7+ years,
I have a little idea of how the creative process works, or at least how it
works for me. I view the process like
driving down the interstate with no particular destination then something
inspires me, and I need to exit and follow the inspiration. Last week, six different things caught my
attention, and of those six, four turned into a thought of the day. Over the years of writing, I’ve learned that
attempting to chase the inspiration down the interstate just becomes a road to
nowhere, and I either run out of emotional gas or end up in the ditch. Whether it is the search for inspiration or
the need for a break from life, we all need to take the next exit sometimes.
