The "F' Word

It’s not the “F” word you think.  The “F” word for today is, “Failure.”  I’ve experienced failure in relationships, jobs, financially, with friendships, and every other aspect of my life.  At the time the failures occurred, it was a huge kick in the ass; however, in retrospect, I have learned some of the most important and life changing lessons from my failures.  When I learned to minimize the self-inflicted emotional beatings for said failure, took ownership of my failures, identified the lesson to be learned, and the takeaway from the situation, things shifted for me.  Failure is a part of life, but rather than let it decimate me, I remind myself that at least I made an attempt.  Yes, it still takes me time to work through the failure and I still ride the emotional roller coaster for a while, but I keep moving.

Here’s your challenge for the day.  Think about one of your failures, and then think about how you came out of it on the backside.  If it was a failed relationship, did you end up with a better one or even get married.  If it was a failed job, did you get a better and more rewarding job later?  No matter the failure, I truly believe you can find some upside that came out of it.  Embrace your “F” words.  They can be life changing.
