I'm not talking about attending actual school, but I am talking about learning. I consider myself a full-time student of life, as I am always in a learning cycle. I learn from the radio playing in the background, running across a television program with something new, listening to people around me, and even in the quiet of sitting in my chair.
One statistic suggests it takes 10,000 repetitions to become proficient at a given task. When I taught martial arts regularly, I recall students whining about doing sets and sets of reverse punches. I would tell them repetition would make them proficient with the technique. Over time, I could see them get crisper with the delivery, more focused, and stronger in their stance, and then one day, they too would see and feel how their techniques had improved.
If your heart is beating, you are learning. There is no way around it. We are all full-time students of life. Take some mental notes today on all the new things you learn. You will amaze yourself with your new levels of brilliance.
