Gone in Seconds

This one popped up this morning as a memory on social media from 11 years ago.  I still remember the day I had the experience and wrote this one.

As I was walking along the beach yesterday, I started looking down at the foot prints left by the person in front of me, and the marks that person was leaving in the sand.  As soon as a wave came in, the foot prints were gone.  Just like the beach, we all leave marks on this big beach called life.  They may only be there for a few seconds, but you still leave a mark.  It is sometimes a smile or a little laugh with someone.  To me, it’s not the size of the mark that matters, but it is all about knowing you are leaving them.

There are so many that go through life thinking they do not matter or do not leave any kind of mark.  Well, you do matter, and every second of our lives makes a difference in the grand scheme.  The good Lord did not put us here to take up space.  He put us here to leave our unique and one-of-a-kind mark.  Just like the sand on the beach, some of them are short lived, but they still make a difference.

You will leave many marks in the world today.  Some you are conscious about and others just happen.  The wonderful thing is knowing you will leave them.  Make a choice today to leave a positive mark.
