Preventive Maintenance

Today was my semi-annual visit to the dentist for the cleaning and checkup.  Luckily, my grill is in great shape and am good for another six months.  On the way home, thoughts of all the preventive maintenance I do popped in the ole head.  I knock out 10 miles on the stationary bike Monday through Friday, get in a little Harley therapy when the weather cooperates, eat pretty healthy, get regular amounts of sleep, get stretching sessions regularly, cryo therapy a few times a week, journal daily for mental health, and take a little quiet time each day to stay centered and focused. These are all things I do to maintain, Me.

When you read the items above, it looks like a lot of work, but those things are just part of my day and life now.  I don’t have to do them. Rather, I get to do them.  Yes, I view my body like any machine that requires maintenance to perform properly.  Anyone reading these words has either experienced some type of failure or knows someone who has by not maintaining themselves.

Take a little time today and think about what your preventive maintenance plan looks like.  If nothing immediately pops in your head, that’s a clear sign you need to develop a maintenance plan. If you need some help, reach out.  I can certainly help you get on the right path.
