Who remembers this little piece from the Beatles: “And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make.” Other terms are, karma, get what you give, or Ying and yang. I simply call it balance.
I view balance as one of the most important things in life. We all have internal mechanisms to warn us when we are out of balance yet choose to ignore them sometimes. If we work or play too much, our bodies let us know by way of fatigue. When relationships are one-sided, we sense it yet we will put it aside, make excuses or disregard the issues rather than have a little dialog with our partner. Making excuses and disregarding things leads to frustration, resentment, and a total disconnect.
Some consider balance elusive, but it isn’t. It is a matter of choice. You must make time and take time to find it. When you do, you will know it, “And in the end, the love that you take is equal to the love you make.”
