Thought of the Day 9/11/09

Yet Again

“At times our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us.” - Albert Schweitzer

I’m just a learning machine these days. Following along my forgiveness based TODs lately, I ran across another term that really got my attention: Time Collapse. In the context that I was reading it, time collapse refers to how living in the moment, present thought, can erase or change past behavior as the past behavior was ego driven. Ego related items are within our control. My interpretation of Time Collapse is truly learning from your past and growing from the experiences rather than staying involved in it. Living in the past just cheats you of your present.

Our egos keep us living in the past. Changing is truly a case of a “learned behavior” as opposed to and instinctual behavior. You can’t change your past, but you have total control over your present. Forgive others and forgive yourself. Learn to collapse time so you are living in the present. That’s where it’s really at.

Action Item – It’s a no homework weekend. Y’all have a fantastic time doing whatever you’re gonna do.
