I was reading the other day about “who we are.” It was in terms of the “real self.” Have you ever noticed what you do when a stranger asks the question: “Where or who is, insert your name? The default reaction we have had all of our life is to point to one specific place on our body: our heart. And what resides in our heart: our spirit?”
I went back to that page a number of times and thought about the times I’ve either done it or watched kids point to their heart. I then thought about the times I've literally touched people right dead center of their chest and said "that's who you really are...right there..." How did I know to point to my heart or someone else's unless it is indeed true that heart is where "we" reside? What’s inside my heart is who I am. It brings me back to a phrase I’ve used a number of times: “…if you think you are just some meat suit running around, your wrong…” A deep subject but yet so simple and true. Listen to your heart. When you know what’s in your heart, you will know who you really are.
