Your Path

"Sometimes our internal GPS has us going in circles. Just stop for a minute, recalibrate your heart, spirit, and mind, then watch how clear your path becomes." - Rodney Williams

With all the new GPS technology in cars today, it's almost impossible to get lost. Some of our satellites have the capability to get you within one meter of your destination. Every time you start up the GPS in the car, it takes a reading off the satellite to see where you are at right now in order to determine how to give you direction for your path.

I like to think we have our own internal GPS that helps guide us through each day. When you wake up in the morning, you start by getting your bearings then plan out your day. I get my daily bearings by smiling, saying thank you for another day and having a quick word with the Good Lord. Those three things get me in sync for the day.

The one thing you really can't plan for are the detours you will hit each day, but you can plan on how you will address them. Detours can come in the form of traffic on the way to the office, sarcasm from someone, unplanned meetings, negative thoughts that pop into your head, or possibly an encounter with someone full of negative energy.

When you encounter a detour, you need to stop for a second and recalibrate your internal GPS settings to ensure you stay on your path for the day. Remind yourself that these detours will not take you from your path of being full of positive energy, joy, happiness, loving those in your life, and being appreciative for yet another opportunity to have a daily journey. When you keep your "gratitude" coordinates calibrated and remain thankful, staying on your path is easy.
