From the Other Side
I recently attended a little get together at a friend’s house. It was a gathering of old neighbors from 20 years ago. This gathering was a little different as I was the youngest one there for most of the party, but it was far from an old timer’s party. Before I knew it, everyone was dancing and hooting it up and then they started doing tequila shots. That is when I overheard one of the funniest lines I’d ever heard: “hey, I can’t see the glass…can you pour the shot for me?” Now that’s being committed to wanting a shot.
As I worked the room talking with every person there, I started seeing something in common in this group of old friends. Without fail, every person in the group was smiling and laughing the entire time. They were just happy to be around each other again. There I was again in my ideal kind of place. I was once again surrounded by good energy, and I blended right in with their group. We were sharing jokes, talking about yoga, sharing motorcycle stories, telling funny stories, dancing, and just enjoying the goodness in the air. There were no stories about ailments, friends that had passed, or politics. Everything discussed was upbeat and funny. I was experiencing the Law of Attraction in action. I was attracting to my life what I give my attention to: positivity and good energy.
When I left, they were still going strong and doing more shots. I made a point to shake each and every person’s hand. I wanted that last connection of touch. I walked out full of great energy and doing what I do best: smiling. Just another day in my great life that I wanted to share with y’all.
