Shake
I was talking with Patrick the other day about the features on the new high end digital cameras. He told me about one feature that shakes the entire camera to help clean the lens. The entire camera vibrates to knock the dust and dirt off the lens. Evidently, it is quite pricey to get a lens professionally cleaned.
Wouldn't it be nice to have a feature like that on us? A shake cycle that could clear our vision of all the nonsense we sometimes get stuck seeing emotionally, physically and spiritually. There is so much going on in our worlds and lives that our lens does indeed get dirty. Damage and dirt comes in the form of the past, negativity, stress, emotional issues, and just a day in the life. We try to clean it ourselves and end up scratching it to the point that all we see is cloudy and distorted. Sometimes the harder we try, the more damage we do to the lens to the point it is unusable.
There are other times we need help cleaning our lens. Sometimes we just need someone to listen. Sometimes we just need a long heart-to-heart connected hug. Sometimes we need someone to hold us while we cry. Sometimes we just need another set of words from someone to help clean up the lens. I know sometimes asking for help is difficult, but it is part of growing. I know as I am still growing in that particular area.
Are things in your life clouded by the past, the current, or maybe too much emphasis on what might happen? Is your lens dirty? Take a few minutes to look in the mirror and see if the image is clear. If not, then do a little shake to clear the dust from your lens. If it is still cloudy, ask for someone to shake with your to clean the lens.
