I Can’t Make This Stuff Up
When I wrote about look up and look down, early yesterday morning, I had no idea what yesterday would bring. Fast forward a few hours and I am at Reliant again to work on some logistics for the Salute to Our Troops Project. Where do you think I ended up at 1:20 in the afternoon? Bingo! I was in the stadium again, but this time, I was literally down in the dirt right smack dab on the floor. I was there with the Air Force Special Combat Operations Rappelling Team to coordinate their drop that will happen tonight.
There I was again looking up and looking down but with yet another perspective this time. I have been down on the floor a number of times but not when the stadium was empty. I did indeed check out my anchor points: my seats where Lauren was sitting Monday, Pete and Sharon’s suite, Nora’s suite, and the suite I was in with Greg and Angela on Monday. I walked around a little just looking at the vastness of the stadium thinking wow how much like life is the stadium.
Life is a huge expanse we fill with people, experiences, and events. There are times we may feel like it is a little empty and quiet then there are other times when we feel it is standing room only. The difference though is we learn how to adapt and contract and expand life as we grow. We learn to make more room in our hearts for more experiences, people and events. I see it like I start scanning the tickets when I wake up each morning and continue as the day goes on. Sometimes my “life stadium” fills up in a matter of hours, and I feel I’m at capacity yet people and events continue to rush the gate to get in. Then there are the other days where the crowd is nice and manageable. Sometimes I like standing room only and sometimes I just like an empty stadium.
What does your life stadium look like at this very second? Is it full, empty, or somewhere in between? Find the capacity that works best for you and enjoy the headliner called Life.
