Monday Comedy

It’s All Over The Place

Finding the funny is something I really enjoy doing. I found tons of it this past weekend. I took a nice 200 mile ride on the Harley on Saturday. I was laughing as I was rolling through Waller. Sam Kinison was on the radio singing his version of Wild Thing. Look up his lyrics on the web for a nice chuckle. Next I’m in Greenvine at the Green Door Saloon laughing with Jerry Vaughn. From there the funny continued at the K & M Grocery in Brenham. They had a sign behind the bar saying the Terry M. was out of prison and writing checks…Don’t Take Um. There were laughs that night at Raeder’s watching a puppy run around on the deck. Then it really got funny over at The Shiloh. They had lost power but still had the bar open using flashlights and Jesus candles from Fiesta right down the street. Now that is what you call customer service.

Sunday continued the hilarity with comments at church, then after church at Starbucks. Hot Tub Time Machine had me totally in stitches, and judging from the belly laughs in the theater, I was not the only one. We all met up at the Shiloh after the movie just in time to hear Butch say: “You can’t drink all day unless you start in the morning.” Then Nora fires one off that she had heard: “I'm tired of being single...it gets old waking up and not recognizing the ceiling fan.”

If I’m not driving the Fun Bus, I am sure as heck riding on it. Why? Laughter is therapeutic. It is good for your spirit and soul. There countless examples of the benefits to your health. If you’re laughing and having fun, it leaves little time to dwell on the past or other issues in life. There is funny all over the place. Even if you just get on the fun bus for a block or two, take the time to do it. Laughter is healthy.
