The Eternal Question

What Is Yours?

Everyone has at least one. Some are fortunate to have several. It may not be apparent to you yet, but it is indeed there. That’s just the way we’re made. Every person has either heard or said: “there’s gotta be more to it than this…” Well, there is more to it. Do you know what I’m talking about yet?

It’s your dream(s), your calling, that thing on the inside that stirs you up from time-to-time. We all have a dream or the thing we know we’re supposed to do on the inside. That’s the way the good Lord made us. It’s always there and sometimes more pronounced than others. Think about it for a minute. On those days when you’re frustrated with your job, what typically bubbles up: “I would rather be doing insert subject…” When I used to get frustrated, my first thought was: “It’s time to open Rod’s Beer, Bait & Ammo.” Really! Richard and I used to joke about the day when we could simplify our lives to the point of having one decision, paper or plastic?

For the longest time, I did not know what mine was until I learned how to listen. My mission, or why I’m here, is to help and inspire others using what I learn each day. Yep it’s that simple. I’m to help others in any and every way I can. That does not mean I solve everyone’s challenges or take ownership. It just means I help in the best way I can. Sometimes that is just a smile and pat on the back. Other times it is lots of listening and deep conversation. Sometimes it helping someone pay their bills or buying them something to take some stress out of their lives. I never really know what it will be until the situation presents itself. But when it does come up, I know it.

That’s the very reason I was set upon this current path and journey which began almost four years ago. What started out as me reading and writing for my own therapy and self improvement has grown into helping others learn to see what life really has to offer you when you open your heart and eyes to the possibilities. The good Lord has blessed me with the resources to simplify my life to the point I have the time to help others. So I pose the question: “What is yours?”
