There Are Indeed Times

Sometimes

“Sometimes I don’t read what you send out, Rod.” Nora told me that last Friday when we were doing our resync session at the Shiloh. Back in the day, my ego probably would have flared up and taken offense to that statement but not now. The funny thing is that I totally get it as I do the same thing. I get many positive messages and affirmations daily, and I sometimes delete them just by looking at the title as I am just not feeling the words. That’s also the reason I sometimes skip writing for a day or two. I just don’t feel the inspiration or the words that particular day. Sure I could force myself and try to power through something, but I know if it feels like work to me, then it will come across that way to y’all.

It all gets back to one simple thing. Every word has power, and we have the ability to feel and sense the energy behind the words. When we have love and goodness behind our words, others are drawn to us and what we have to say. We also feel the goodness as we get it back from the other person. When we encounter mean or sarcastic words, we either retreat or get defensive. We too feel these words usually in the form of some type of regret. You know the feeling. It’s the “why did I say that…I didn’t really mean it.”

Whether you read what I write or not, is totally up to you. I know sometimes my words hit people at their very core and provide some level of enlightenment or comfort as they tell me so. I know people do not always read what I write. I know some people get tired of reading about my jet flying, driving race cars, fun with the Spec Ops guys, or whatever, and I am fine with all of it as they are my words and my story.

I choose to believe we all have great power in our words. Sometimes they work and sometimes they don’t. Learn to recognize the difference through feeling the words. “With great power comes great responsibility.” Use your power wisely.
