Have you ever noticed how quickly someone can spout off what’s wrong with you, tell you what your faults are, or tell you how you are broken? It seems to take no effort to point out our weaknesses or as I like to call them, opportunities to grow. I’m sure there have been exhaustive studies done, but I can’t for the life of me understand why people seem to get some type of joy out of pointing out the faults of others. Maybe it makes them feel better to see and point out the faults as that deflects them from looking at their own. We all have faults and we all have opportunities to grow. Not a single one of us on this earth is perfect. Life in general just beats us up sometimes. Why pile on by speaking negativity into someone? It serves no useful or positive purpose.
How about we put as much effort into pointing out the good in people, the right things they do and how they make a difference in the world? Praising someone does so much for the giver and receiver. Praise is another type of gift of the blessing. Tell me what I’m doing right. Trust me! I already know my opportunities to grow!
