All Over The Place
You are one of maybe 600. You’re so sore your legs barely move from walking 12+ miles. You have blisters the size of silver dollars and down through two layers of skin yet you do not complain. You are kinda soft spoken yet Time Magazine listed you as one of the top 100 most influential people in the country. What are you? You’re an Air Force Special Operations Combat Controller/Pararescue soldier walking from San Antonio to Florida to honor your fallen brothers and raise awareness of Special Operations and the Special Operations Warrior Foundation.
The last couple of days have been a whirlwind of activity and emotion. We spent Monday afternoon collecting donations for the cause then went out to the hotel in Katy to share some food, time, and stories with the team. Tuesday we walked with the team through various parts of Houston. At certain times, I just stood there not saying a thing and taking it all in. From watching Ken and Sam who could barely walk to my friend Buddy Johnson handing me another $850 on the way out to meet the team, it was sometimes more than I could take in. I overheard my friend Kenny Pratt (TSgt US Air Force) explaining how he and I met where he mentioned good and positive people attracting good and positive people. That’s exactly how it works, and I am so thankful to have all of these great people in my life.
Thank to you the Air Force Special Operations Team conducting the Walk for the Fallen.
