What Will It Be Today?

Look What I Learned

“When you teach him something new, I know it’s going to hurt me.” – Mark Bofinger
Coltan, my nephew, and I kinda have a thing that has been going on for years.  I typically teach him some new martial arts move each time we see each other.  As soon as I teach him, he is off to practice it on Mark.  I showed him some new things at the Renaissance Festival over the weekend and off he went to try them on Mark.  As I was showing him the new techniques, I was also watching how he was reacting to the attacks.  He was using blocks and counters I showed him years ago and did not even know he was using them.  He paid attention and was using what he learned from me in the past.
There are so many daily opportunities to learn or teach something new. At any given time, we are all both students and teachers.  That is the very reason item two on my daily “to do” list is to learn at least one new thing.  Let’s see. What will I learn today?
