Heck, We All Are
Just like we are all unique, we all have another thing in common. We are all broken on some level. In the last week alone, I’ve had that very conversation with three different people in three different parts of the city. So, what do I mean by being broken? Well, we all have issues of some sort. In these three particular conversations, they were specifically about how issues from our past have messed up some part of our present. We all have mommy/daddy issues from our childhood just like our parents do/did, and their parents did, and theirs, and on and on. Think about it. How many times have you said or been told, “You are just like your Mom/Dad.” Well duh. We are in some ways.
Contrary to what some think, no one is perfect or without flaws of some sort. That’s just the way we were made. We all need some form of therapy, counseling, connectedness, or help of some sort. I get some of my best inspiration from my brokenness. How do you think the book came about? They book grew out of my journaling that started some 4.5 years ago when I was very broken. I embrace my brokenness as I see it as an opportunity to grow and improve. You’re broke, I’m broke, we’re all broke.
