I Really Don’t Care
Dating advice is probably one of the funniest subjects in the world to me. I ran across an article about the first date fears of men. The article discussed such thought provoking concepts like, will I be what she is expecting, will she be interested in me, will I get a second date, or can I touch or her not? Yes, there was a time when I too questioned myself about those very things. Now, I really don’t care. Before you get all huffy about the previous comment, hear me out. I really don’t care means I don’t care to give my energy to wondering how things are going or playing the what if game. Yes, I still have my guy ego and insecurities, but I work at keeping them in check and enjoying moments with people rather than wondering.
Whether it is dating, work, or just life, I believe we tend to expend too much energy on wondering and what if’ing instead of enjoying. Things will play out the way they are going to play out. Take the pressure off yourself, and enjoy experience the present moment. On this first day of December 2010, say I Really Don’t Care to your ego and insecurities, and say I Do care about enjoying the now.
