It's Not My Fault...YES It Is!

Really, Are You Kidding Me?

I continue to shake my head and be amazed at the levels of the blame game or lack of accountability.  The new one at the top of my list is the fast food worker that now wants to bring a lawsuit against the chain they worked for claiming it is the fault of the company they gained 60+ pounds while working there and eating their shift food.  So let me make sure I understand.  This person worked there by choice.  This person ate the food by choice.  Do I dare mention most fast food locations have some sort of reasonably healthy alternatives like a grilled chicken breast or salad?  This person put on the weight by choice as they chose to eat the fast food but not work out.  This person was not forced at gunpoint or against their will to eat the food.  Do I understand the situation, correctly?  This particular person made conscious choices yet wants to take no responsibility for those choices.  Really, are you kidding me?

I’ve heard every excuse under the sun from people eating at fast food places, because they are on tight budgets and can get more bang for the buck.  They are on a tight schedule and do not have time to cook or get something healthy.  Don’t get me wrong, I like a great burger and fries myself, but I do not eat them regularly.  Mexican food it the greatest, but I do not eat it all the time either.  I know if those were the staples of my food intake, I would gain weight.  It’s real simple.  Calories put on pounds if they are not managed.  Weight management is one of the easiest concepts to understand in my opinion.  To maintain weight, output=input.  To lose weight, the output needs to exceed the input.  When input exceeds output, we gain weight.  It’s real simple folks.  You don’t need a math or physics degree to figure that one out.

The root of today’s commentary is not about food or diets.  It is about accountability.  There are reactions for each of our actions.  Society has created a generation of zero accountability people.  Where does my responsibility from someone else’s stupidity end?  With that said, I’m off to the gym.
