That's a Mighty Big.........................Number You Have

What’s the Hurry?

I saw the posts and heard the stories starting last week about what people are “gonna do” for 2011.  Yep, it was the usual stuff of going on a diet, working out, paying bills off, etc. also known as the dreaded New Year’s Resolution List.  The “gonna do” lists are being made, but what about the “what I did” lists for 2010?  How often do we put more emphasis on what’s coming and totally write off the what has happened?  We all need to give ourselves a little pat on the back for the things we accomplished in the previous year.  After all, we each have 525,600 so what is the hurry.  525,600 is the number of minutes in one year.  A big number seems to be more impressive and get more attention than a little number like 365.  I guess size does matter.  Seriously, doesn’t the last year take on a little different complexion when you think of it in the number of minutes?

There were so many great things, events, and people and some not so great things, events, and people in my life for 2010, but every single event is mine.  From Tristen being born to having four surgeries and everything in between, there are some many great memories, and I still have roughly 5,760 minutes to go in 2010.

Here is your homework assignment.  Literally, write down all the events in your life that you can remember for 2010.  Do not label them as good or bad but just events.  When you see how much you experienced, it will bring a little smile to your face.  So, I pose the question again.  What’s the hurry?  Remember, you still have about 5,760 to go.
