Yes! I am Ignoring You
I do believe everyone has a purpose in our life, but there are some people in the world that need ignoring. You know the ones I mean. All they do is complain, run people down, gossip, enjoy being sarcastic, and are overall energy sponges. You see them, and the first thought is…crap, there they are…I hope they did not see me. Some do it for attention, some think they are clever or comical, and others are just downright miserable people and want everyone around them to be miserable.
Joel Osteen had a humorous story about a reporter asking him about two specific people. The reporter mentioned their names then asked Joel about them. He commented, “I’m sorry, but I do not know those two people.” The reporter responded, “they are your two biggest critics…how could you not know them.” Joel commented I choose not to listen to my critics.
He made a good point. Why listen to people that are going to run you down, assassinate your character and pretty much add nothing but grief to your life? Life presents enough challenges without someone piling on more crap for no constructive reason. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for and about constructive criticism as long as it provides me an opportunity to improve and become a better person.
If certain people or situations make you feel uncomfortable, listen to your spider senses. Maybe a little ignoring is in order.
