I have not written anything for the last few days as I was stuck. I do not call it writer’s block. I prefer to think of it as waiting on clarity. There were plenty of ideas that popped in my head, but when I attempted to put words to them, “I got nothin.” I used to get frustrated when things were not clear to me, but now I see it from the angle of just not the subject to write on right now.
Here are few of the ideas that went nowhere.
Agenda – this topic was about how so many people appear to have agendas these days rather than doing things for the right reasons.
Filler - it was about those people in our lives that we only hear from between relationships or when they run off to have a romp with someone then can’t understand why we are not available when they pop back on the scene.
Advisor – it was about the virus software on my computer that monitors emails, web site, and content to ensure my machine stays safe. The idea was to talk about the Advisors in our lives including our conscious, ego, spirit, friends, and family.
None of those three panned out after about two sentences. I just got stuck and walked away. Then the idea for this one came about around 7 am this morning.
We get stuck sometimes. Stuck in a dead end job, stuck in a less than good relationship, stuck in routines around the home, or stuck on where we are in life as opposed to where we thought we would be at a certain point. Being stuck is one of the most frustrating feelings out there in my opinion. It is one of those feelings that continues to fester until we do something about it. By doing something, I mean sometimes letting the situation alone for a bit to run its course rather than pressing hard on it. I find that pushing sometimes only amplifies the situation. Meaning, the clarity typically comes if we can put our impatience in check long enough to allow it to happen. How long is long enough? That’s a personal choice. Only you know when it is time to move forward.
Do you sometimes feel your shoes are glued to the floor and you can’t move? Try unlacing the shoes, leaving them there and stepping in another direction. They will still be in the same place when you are ready to come back to them. For now, just get unstuck.
