Share a Table Make a New Friend

Today’s title is actually a sign on some tables at an eatery by the house.  I have been there many times but never noticed the sign until yesterday.  Thoughts raced through my head about seeing people looking for a place to sit in a busy restaurant and not offering up an extra seat at my table.  Fess up!  You have done it too.  I began thinking about why I may have done it.  Was I holding the seats for someone else, was it a call based on how they looked, was it me just wanting to sit alone that day, or just being anti-social?  The answer was all of the above.  I was judging some days, anti-social some days, and wanted to be alone to think on other days.     

After seeing the sign, I have not stopped thinking about the missed opportunities to meet someone new and maybe learn a new thing.  I think my task for today is to ask a stranger if I can sit at their table and change a stranger to a new friend.  Who’s with me?
