PAK
There are regular stories about random acts of kindness. Random acts are a great thing as they show someone did something kind based on the moment. We all know how good it feels inside to help someone. The smile and good energy you get back from the other person are priceless. Can you imagine how much greater a place our world would be if random became the norm? Let’s call it Premeditated Acts of Kindness or PAK.
Each morning, I put that very question out there, “Who can I help today?” Rather than having a random encounter, I set the intention of helping someone each day. Don’t get me wrong, I do enjoy the random encounters, but I also like looking for an opportunity to help someone.
There are opportunities for acts of kindness all around us. Taking a shopping cart to one of the collection points in a parking lot helps the cart collector by saving them time and removing the potential for a cart to roll into someone’s car. Saying thank you to a police officer or firefighter for the job they do makes a difference. Call someone to say hi and let them know you are thinking about them. Give someone a simple compliment. Here’s how I see it in my little ole head. The act of kindness is not near as important as the intention behind it. When you live a lifestyle of gratitude and thankfulness, kindness just becomes a part of who you are and a way of life.
Do a little premeditating today.
