Time Out...No Really You Need a Time Out

One Hour Minimum

I saw a quick story on maintaining good health.  They talked about all the typical things like a proper diet, alcohol, and caffeine in moderation, not smoking, limiting stress, and exercise.  This particular story also focused on ME time and its importance.  The doctor recommended a bare minimum of one hour of alone time each day to decompress and shed a portion of the crap from the day.  Skipping ME time allows the crap to pile up from day to day to the point you end up exploding from the stress or have other stress related health issues like hypertension, headaches, etc.  Some people like to brag about being on the go all the time, or working 12 hours a day.  These are the same people with troubled relationships (friends, family and intimate), diabetes, high blood pressure, and insomnia at a reasonably young age.

I see ME time no different from exercising or eating.  It’s required to maintain your health.  Your body needs downtime to relax and recharge.  When you stop eating you will lose weight, but at some point, you will find yourself run down and lethargic.  You are depriving your body of what it needs.  When you do not allow yourself ME time, you are also depriving your body of what it needs.

Are you getting your recommended daily allowance of ME time?
