The Shift
I’ve written many times about
seasonal changes and shifts. I’m doing a
big shift right now. I’m having the
interior of the house painted. I’ve been
here 13.5 years and short of some accent wall painting and my bedroom, this
will be the first wholesale makeover of the house. It’s a little funny to me at seeing the
symbolism going on as the guys work in the house. They are repairing cracks and holes in the
drywall and making the places look new. There
is protection on the floors and drop cloths all over the place. There are five sections of scaffolding
erected on the second floor to allow them to reach the high points on the walls
and ceilings. All of my furniture on the
second floor is now located in my kitchen.
It’s just time for a different
energy at Casa De Rod. Most everyone
that comes to my home comments about how warm and peaceful it is here. Some come over just to relax. They will sit on the couch, say nothing, and
just unwind. That’s by design. I work at keeping my home balanced and
feeling inviting. Part of that process
includes change every now and then. I
can already feel the difference as I see the cracks and stains being repaired, and
the walls change colors. I see the change
happening in front of my very eyes. When
they finish in a few days, I will take the time to sit for a few hours and just
take it all in.
Seasons change, we change, and
everything around us changes. Some changes
are put upon us and others we initiate. Shifts
in life are inevitable, but how we react to them is totally ours to enjoy. Is there a shift happening in your life? If so, I’d like to hear about it.
